The handmade raku focal on saur is pebbled like lizard skin. I placed it asymmetrically between 4 slightly smaller verdite streaked disks that look like layers of sand hiding clues to the past. They spark with mica.
The green apatite nuggets echo the verdite, amplifying the green. There's also several pieces of peacock blue apatite.
Two hand-cast (using the "lost wax method") brass beads from Africa accent the sides. Each of these is unique. The remainder of the necklace is dark teal recycled glass beads from Ghana spaced out with dark old coconut disks and brown bone.
There are old brass heishi from Kenya siding the focal and the clasp.
Raku focal, handmade and signed on the back by Marianne "MAK" Kasparian of MAKUstudio
The beautiful hook clasp is heavy duty brass, handmade by me.
21" (53cm) long, but can be lengthened with additional brass links.
